Manufacturing Process Of Pressure Tanks

Our headquarters, Unicontrols Co., Ltd, is one of the world’s leading pressure tank manufacturers. We are one of the biggest names specialised in small to medium precision stainless steels pressure tanks.

With over 30 years of experience in the industry, we have over achieved customers’ satisfaction and outperform their expectation with our know-how knowledge and expertise.

Seeing a continuous demand and potential growth in various industries, we moved our existing production lines from the old factory to our new factory that is built in Niigata Japan in 2012.

Prior to that, Unicontrols has obtained the ISO certification for the manufacturing of pressure tanks and assembly of tank accessories in July 2014. Beside our extensive range of pressure tanks, the high quality and durability of our products are the reasons why people choose Unicontrols.

Hence to ensure that we have total control over the design and production process, we have our own manufacturing base where we employ only the best technologies to produce our products. We welcome you to have a look at our factory on the introduction of the manufacturing process of pressure tanks as shown below.

THE PROCESS

1Shearing

The stainless steel plate is processed and cut according to the specified dimensions.

2Roll Processing

The cut plate is rolled by the roll machine to produce the tank body. The cylindrical shape of the tank body is formed using the urethane roll machine.

3Tank Body Welding

The tank body is joined using the linear automatic welding machine. The advantage of the plasma welding machine is it is easy to melt the main material.

4Crushing Processing

The welded part of the tank body is crushed and the welded bead is smoothen using the linear crush roll machine.

5Welding

The tank body and mirror part is welded. After the argon welding and stainless parts etc are melted and joined, dimension inspection is carried out based on the drawings.

6Buff Polishing

The weld bead of the welded part is cut and #400 buff polishing process is carried out.

7Tank Surface Inspection

After buff polishing is done, inspection is carried out for the tank’s inner and outer surface to check for any scratches or gloss.

8Removing Welding Burnt

The welding burnt parts which cannot be removed by buff polishing is removed using scaler.

9Cleaning & Wiping

The buff powder due to buff polishing is cleaned. After cleaning, the tank is wiped using alcohol.

10Laser Marking

We can do laser marking upon customer’s request. We can do various format of laser marking such as kanji, QR code, English etc.

11Assembly & Inspection

Accessories such as level gauge, drain port, connecting joints are being assembled. After assembly, dimension inspection is carried out based on the drawings. The tank design pressure test inspection is also carried out to ensure that there is no leak from the welded parts and assembled parts.

12Final Inspection & Packing

Final inspection is carried out to ensure the tank is as per drawings. The tank is being packed with care to ensure that it is not damaged during delivery.
